Frances Amy Mitchell
Frances Amy Mitchell

Born: 20th June 1886 @ Portishead to Charles James Mitchell and Hannah Mitchell (Nee Davies)

Married: Not sure, either married or lived with George Frederick Jones

Children: Violet Ninon Jones

Died: 20th April 1971 @ Frome, Somerset

Buried: East Hill Cemetery, Warminster Road, Frome (in the name of Jones)

We're not sure whether Frances (known as Amy) lived with, or married, George Jones (probably the former as there is no record of a marriage that we know of) but they lived in Portishead where George designed and built a house called 'Rose Bank' in Beech Road, they later moved to Chantry (near Frome - they were there around 1925-1932), then to Hemington (near Radstock) where George died, then she went to live with her daughter Violet in Frome for the rest of her life.

It would seem from a photograph that Amy and George had another daughter, Ruby, who had died aged only 2 months, as early as 1911.

We have her birth certificate.
