Henry William Patten
Henry William (AKA William Henry) Patten

Born: 5th January 1877 @ Bayford Hill, Wincanton, Somerset to Francis Patten and Mary Ann Patten (Nee Churchey)

Married: 13th September 1917 @ St. Peter's Parish Church, Clifton Wood, Bristol to Mabel Elizabeth Adey (Nee Mitchell)

Children: Brian Francis Patten

Died: 15th February 1937 @ 4 Tottenham Place, Clifton, Bristol of Pulmonary Oedema.

Buried: Grave 524 Pink FF, Canford Cemetary, Westbury-On-Trym, Bristol

William was actually registered at birth as Henry William, although he lived, was married and died as William Henry. He was a soldier on active service in the Somme when he married (this was during WW1) and a motor engineer when he died. Apparently he was badly gassed during WW1 and was ill during the rest of his life.

We have his birth, marriage and death certificates plus the special licence for his marriage.

I can't find 'Billy' in the 1901 census, he must be there somewhere but none of my searches come up with him.
